Acrylic, Oil Pastel on Canvas

100 x 100 cm

This series is deeply personal, inspired by the recent passing of my father. It explores the fragile boundary between presence and absence, love and loss—how someone can feel so distant yet remain so close. Through abstract forms and shifting contrasts of light and darkness, I reflect on the way grief and memory intertwine, dissolving the illusion of separation.

At its core, this work is a reflection on grief and love, and how memory keeps what we’ve lost both painfully distant and beautifully close. As Haruki Murakami wrote, “No matter how much suffering you went through, you never wanted to let go of those memories.” Love persists, even in absence, and what once felt lost remains near in ways we never expect.
